What your notice must include

The law (17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3)) asks for all of these. If something is missing, we may not be able to act on the notice.

Knowingly sending a false notice can make you liable for damages, including costs and attorney’s fees (17 U.S.C. § 512(f)).

What happens next

We aim to review every notice within 72 hours. If it is complete, we remove the post and tell the person who posted it why, and how to send a counter-notice.

If your post was removed: counter-notice

Counter-notices. If you believe material was removed by mistake or misidentification, you can send a counter-notice to copyright@solysapp.com with the information 17 U.S.C. § 512(g)(3) requires. We will forward it to the person who sent the original notice. We will restore the material in 10 to 14 business days after we receive your counter-notice, unless that person tells us they have filed a lawsuit to stop the infringement.

Your counter-notice must include:

False claims. Anyone who knowingly misrepresents that material is infringing, or was removed by mistake, may be liable for damages under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f). We may disregard notices from people who repeatedly send baseless claims.

Repeat infringers

Repeat infringers. Each valid copyright notice against your account is a strike. If you receive 3 strikes in 12 months, we will terminate your account. Notices about several items received together may count as one strike. A strike is removed if your counter-notice succeeds or the claim is withdrawn. Copyright strikes are separate from Community Guidelines strikes.
