Brightloop LLC operates Solys. We protect our users' privacy and respond to valid legal process that complies with U.S. law.

How to send a request

What legal process gets what (Stored Communications Act, 18 U.S.C. § 2701 et seq.)

ProcessWhat we may disclose
SubpoenaBasic subscriber information: name, email, sign-up date, and IP addresses we have on record
Court order under 18 U.S.C. § 2703(d)Non-content records, such as account activity logs
Search warrantContent: posts, messages, photos, videos

Preservation. We preserve records for 90 days on a request under 18 U.S.C. § 2703(f), and for one 90-day extension on a renewed request. We disclose nothing without valid process.

Emergencies. If you believe there is a danger of death or serious physical injury that requires disclosure without delay (18 U.S.C. § 2702(b)(8) and (c)(4)), email legal@solysapp.com with "EMERGENCY" in the subject. Describe the emergency, the account, and why disclosure can't wait. A founder reviews emergency requests as fast as possible, 7 days a week.

Notifying users. We tell users about requests for their information before disclosing, unless:

We don't notify users about preservation requests.

Child safety. We report apparent child sexual exploitation to NCMEC's CyberTipline, as 18 U.S.C. § 2258A requires. Please include the CyberTipline report number on related requests.

Requests from outside the U.S. These must come through a Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty or another process valid in the U.S.

Costs. We may seek reimbursement as permitted by 18 U.S.C. § 2706.

What we don't have. We don't collect phone numbers or location (only a time zone). We don't keep deleted content except as required by law or a preservation request.

Transparency. Each year we publish how many requests we received and how we responded, even if the number is zero.
